The Owner/Applicant is responsible for obtaining all approvals. Approvals shall be obtained in numerical order. The Historic Preservation Division will issue a letter addressing the specific request. No work can begin until the grading permit is issued by the Department of Public Works. 2. All work shall be in accordance with Chapter 10 – Erosion and Sedimentation Control, of the Hawai‘i County Code, and as shown on the approved plan. 3. The Owner/Applicant shall provide three (3) sets of grading plans to the Department of Public Works. The plans shall include existing and proposed contours, erosion and sediment control measures, limits of grading providing proper setbacks from the property lines, location of any structures or easements, and any drainage patterns or devices. 4. A site map showing the area of proposed land-altering within the affected TMK parcel(s) 2. Location map showing known historic sites and approved buffer zones in relation to the proposed project area 3. Description of current vegetation cover and condition of the project area; description of any structures, roads or other features within the project area (photographs are very helpful) 4. Copies of previously approved permits and/or and prior SHPD review and comment letters that pertain to the property 5. Summary of land use history if known (i.e., former cane cultivation) 6. Construction dates of buildings within the project area, if known 7. Mailing address and phone number of the contact person to whom we will send our review letter If you have any questions, please call 933-7653 or 933-7650 SHPD does not sign the permit; we will send you a review letter which you will attach to the permit application. Do not send us your original permit application form; send us a copy so that we may keep it on file at SHPD. Per Hawtii County Code Section 5-28(a} regarding Issuance ofpe:anits, states in part "Plans shall be reviewed by any other appropriate department of the County and the State to verify compliance with laws and ordinances undet their jurisdiction,,, The Solid Wute Division has and will continue to be a part of the Counq ofHawai'.fs Building and Demolition Permit process. One .requirement of the permit process .is fat the entity pulling the_pcrmit to declare how much waste wilt be generated &om the ptQject by submitting a Solid Waste Demolition Plan/Report (SWDP). Ifa SWDP is submitted claiming no debris will be directed to the EHSL or WHSL for disposal, an NOA will not be issued. Thus, any debris generated from that project will be rejected at both EHSL and WHSL scale houses. Ifa SWDP is submitted and approved, an NOA will be issued. It is the responsibility of the entity who filed for the peanit to supply the hauler of the debris with a copy of the NOA. An NOA will not be issued prior to the issuance of the builcliog/demolition permit. Per Hawaii County Code Section 5-31(3) i:eguding Permit fees, "When wodt for which a permit is required by this code bas commenced wi1hout obtaining said building permit, the fees specified shall be doubled, but the payment ofsuch double fee smll not relieve any penon &om fully complying with the requirements of tbia code in the execution of the work nor from any other penalties prescribed in this code." The NOA will state the building/demolition permit#, T.M.K. #, Solid Waste Disposal permit#, and any comments from the Solid Waste Division. Please be aware comments may Uidude dea.lgnated sites that the debris will be accepted at. The hauler will be requited to pieaent the NOA with each load ofConstruction debiis and/ or Grading and Grubbing material. Please use this Uiterim period to contact your customeis with construction projects and acquire a copy of their NOA, ifapplicable.
