STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS (Limited to 5 minutes.)
EXECUTIVE SESSION (Closed to the public.)
The commission will meet in executive session to consider the hire of an employee where
consideration of matters affecting privacy will be involved and may consult with Corporation Counsel
on questions and issues pertaining to the commission's powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and
liabilities pursuant to HRS 92-5 (a) (2) (4) and the Hawaii County Charter Section 13-20 (b).
• Chief of Police Selection Process, including, but not limited to the interview of Deputy Police
Chief Paul Ferreira; review of the selection procedures, written testimonies, records, and
documents; and deliberation.
APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF OF POLICE: A decision could be made at this time. (Open to public.)
ANNOUNCEMENTS
• The Police Commission's next monthly meeting will be on December 16, 2016, 9:00 a.m., in the
Aupuni Center Conference Rm., 101 Pauahi St., Hilo, Hawaii.
• Corporation Counsel will conduct a brief workshop on the Sunshine Law for board members
following this meeting.
