ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS
1. Minutes of the Meeting of November 28, 2016
2. Approval of Addendum and/or Supplemental Agenda (requires six (6) votes, and
must comply with HRS § 92-7(d))
BUSINESS OF COMMITTEE
1. Update/Discussion of Agenda Items by District 9 Council Member Tim Richards.
2. John Mueller will lead the Action Committee in a discussion to provide the
Planning Director with actions and activities to justify the Action Committee’s
need for monthly meetings.
3. The Action Committee will review and approve a letter drafted by Diane Kanealiʻi
for transmittal to Mayor Kim welcoming him to office.
4. Mark Gordon will lead the Action Committee in a discussion of Change of Zone
Application (REZ-16-000216) TMK: 6-9-013:044, 045, 046, 6-9-014:002:003 & 6-
9-015:002 regarding possible concerns towards affordable housing, electrical
usage and the use of alternative energy sources.

6. Jojo Tanimoto will lead a discussion with the Action Committee to modify the
Action Committee’s Letterhead to include the names of the Committee Members.
7. Jojo Tanimoto will lead a discussion with the Action Committee to have staff list
all new, future CIP projects proposed in the Resource Section of the South
Kohala CDP section of the website.

Notice:
The purpose of the public hearings is to afford all interested persons a reasonable opportunity to be heard
on the above items. According to the Operating Guidelines of the South Kohala Community Development
Plan Action Committee, a person desiring to submit oral or written testimony shall indicate her/his name
and whether the testimony is on her/his behalf or as a representative of an organization or individual.
Written testimony shall be submitted with an original and nine copies prior to testifying. The Committee
would appreciate timely submittal to the Planning Department at least one week prior to the hearing date
to allow for mailing and thorough Committee review.
If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawaii County Clerk within five days of becoming a
lobbyist {Article 15, Section 2-91.3 (b), Hawaii County Code}. A lobbyist means “any individual engaged
for pay or other consideration who spend more than five hours in any month or $275 in any six-month
period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative or administrative action by communicating or
urging others to communicate with public officials.” {Article 15, Section 2-91.3(a) (6), Hawaii County
Code}.
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service, other reasonable modification, or language interpretation
to access this meeting please contact the Planning Department at 961-8288 as soon as possible, but no
later than five (5) working days prior to the meeting date, to arrange for accommodations. “Other
reasonable modification” refers to communication methods or devices for people with disabilities who are
mentally and/or physically challenged
