Dear Chairs Nishihara and Espero, and members:
RE: SB 611
Thank you for this opportunity to comment on SB 611.
As we all know, the cost of housing in Hawaii is already so high that too many of
our citizens are priced out of the market. Whether it is a question of creating housing
stock for ownership or rental, we need to find ways to make it less expensive to build,
rather than more expensive. For that reason, Hawaii County would not consider
requiring sprinklers in residential dwellings, or agricultural or aquacultural buildings.
