Gordon, Diane Kaneali'i (Vice-Chair) and George (Robbie) 16 Robertson. 17 2 Members absent/excused: Roger Harris and Eddie K. Akau 18 3 Planning Department: Deanne Bugado and Michael Yee 19 4 County of Hawai'i - Nancy Pisicchio 20 5 Public: James Hustace, Irene Carpenter, Susan Fischer, Margaret Wille, 21 Kamuela Plunkett and David Tamas 22 STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC REGARDING ITEMS ON AGENDA 23 1. None 24 ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS 25 1. Minutes of the Meeting of January 23, 2017 - Committee member Tanimoto 26 moved to approve the minutes. Committee member Robertson seconded the 27 motion. A voice vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 28 BUSINESS OF COMMITTEE (Part 1) 29 1. Chair Mueller led the Action Committee in a discussion to identify activities, 30 actions and/or information that could be done/sought to justify having monthly 31 meetings. The AC discussed lists and issues developed by the CDP district 32 representatives for future agenda discussions/presentations/activities. 33 a. Staff Deanne provided the Action Committee with a brief background of the 34 process of moving actions (letters/request for support) from the liaison 35 groups to the Action Committee and then on to the County. 36 PRESENTATION 37 Susan Fischer, a member of the Public Access, Open Space & Natural 38 Resources Preservation Commission (PONG) provided the Action Committee 39 with a brief presentation about the Commission and nomination of properties by 40 the public for 2016. 41 Planning Director Yee spoke of making sure that the a primary focus will be 42 cultural & historic preservation and the support towards the local residential 43 communities. 44 Kamuela Plunkett provided the Action Committee with the historical perspective 45 of a local resident of the Waimea district of the impact of development and some 46 of the information he has found during the development of his studies 47 Margaret Wille also provided the Action Committee with information of what was 48 done on the Council that impact the district. 49 BUSINESS OF COMMITTEE (Part 2) 50 2. Chair Mueller continued the Action Committee discussion of the lists and issues 51 developed by the CDP district representatives for future agenda 52 discussions/presentations/activities. 53 a. Planning Director Yee responded to the discussion to state that he is 54 supportive of the Committee/Community efforts and made a commitment to 55 prioritize the CDP CIP projects to the Mayor and other County Departments. 56 Also discussed some proposed staff reorganization within the Planning 57 Department. 58 b. Nancy Pisicchio also responded to the discussion to provide information 59 regarding the perspective of the Mayor's Office on the CDP/CIP. 60 STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC REGARDING ITEMS ON AGENDA 61 1. Next Meeting May 22, 2017 - Waikoloa - Waikoloa Village Association 64 Community Room 65 ADJOURNMENT 66 Chair Mueller asked if there was any other business prior to adjournment.
