RE. Proposed Pahoa Library
In response to your letter dated June 19, 2017, the County fully supports a new public library for Pahoa and
lower Puna. Should your first preference be the site of our existing Pahoa police and fire station at TMK 1-5-
007.017, we would be wilting to share the site provided there be a separate access that would not interfere with
the ingress/egress of our emergency response vehicles
We understand that a site selection study is nearing completion. We would appreciate an opportunity to review
the report. We also understand that an environmental assessment would be conducted that would provide an
opportunity for the community and our County agencies to provide input to your final site selection decision. If
you need assistance to consider alternative sites, we can facilitate discussions with our County agencies or the
community
Let us know how we can best assist you to make this project a reality This is an exciting project and so
welcomed for lower Puna. Thank you!
Yoi}rs truly,
It
