APPLICANT: RODNEY TANAKA (FORMERLY CYNTHIA KUULEI THOMAS) (REZ 07-000065) Request for an additional 5 -year extension of time to comply with Condition C (Complete Construction) of Ordinance No. 07-136, which rezoned approximately 22,500 square feet of land from the Single -Family Residential — 10,000 square feet (RS -10) district to the Industrial -Commercial Mixed Use — 20,000 square feet (MCX-20) district. Favorable recommendation to the County Council with proposed amended conditions. 2. APPLICANT: CELESTIAL SANCTUM 501(C)(3) (SPP 17-000192) Application for a Special Permit to allow the establishment and operation of a lodge and retreat center for up to twenty-one (21) guests on a 3.926 -acre portion of a larger 25 -acre parcel of land in the State Land Use Agricultural District. The property is located at 18-4271 Luna Ikena Road approximately one (1) mile northwest of its intersection with Volcano Highway, Ola`a, Puna, Hawaii, TMK: 1-8-010:105. Continued until further notice. 3. APPLICANT: VERIZON WIRELESS (USE 17-000067) Continued hearing for an application for a Use Permit to allow the construction of a new, non -manned telecommunication facility, consisting of a 167 -foot tall steel monopole tower and related facilities within a 900 -square foot portion of a 1 -acre parcel of land situated in the County's Agricultural 1 -acre (A-1 a) zoning district. Initial hearing was continued to allow parties to participate in mediation. The property is located northeast of the `Ohi`a Avenue - Alapua Street intersection, in the Eden Roc Estates Subdivision, Kea`au, Puna, Hawaii, TMK: 1-1-082:031. Commission voted to have Commissioner Gregory Henkel preside over the contested case hearing procedure. Minutes of July 6, 2017 — Approved.
