Commisioner De Luz <br />seconded, and it carried unanimously. <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS (None) <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Commissioner Buckman motioned to approve the minutes of July 21, 2017, regular and <br />executive sessions. Commissioner Carlson seconded, and it carried unanimously. <br />POLICE CHIEF'S REPORT ON DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES <br />• Personnel: Assistant Chief Marshall Kanehailua reported having 7 sworn vacancies. <br />Many officers have shown interest in the FBI recruitment. A Police Officer I test will <br />be administered at the end of the month. The 85th recruit class started with 14; they <br />are now down to 5. The 86th recruit started with 17; they are now down to 14. The <br />
