SOUTH KOHALA CDP AC MEMBER INTRODUCTION Action Committee: John Mueller (Chair), Diane Kaneali'i (Vice -Chair), Eddie Akau, Julia Ann Alos, Josephine "Dojo" Tanimoto, Mark Gordon, Roger Harris, and George "Robby" Robertson. Action Committee Member Absent -Excused: None. Staff: Keola Childs, South Kohala CDP Planner, April Surprenant, Long Range Division Manager, and CoH Planners: Bethany Morrison, Hans Santiago, Heather Bartlett, Keiko Mercado, LeAna Gloor, and Neil Dixon. Members of the public: Eight STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC REGARDING ITEMS ON AGENDA: NONE ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS Minutes of the May 22, 2017 AC meeting. Chairperson John Mueller moved to approve the minutes of the May 22, 2017, meeting os submitted. Second by George "Robby" Robertson. The motion to approve the minutes os submitted passed with 6 votes aye and 0 votes nay. Approval of Addendum and/or Supplemental Agenda: NONE Hawai `i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer Page I PRESENTATION/DISCUSSION: 1. General Plan Update: Ms. Surprenant, Mr. Childs and members from the Planning Department's Long Range Division provided the Action Committee an overview of the General Plan Comprehensive Review and its relationship to the South Kohala CDP. The planning team used "scenario planning" to explore the South Kohala CDP area. Action Committee members and members of the public asked questions of the team and engaged in discussion. Topics discussed include: infrastructure improvement priorities in the district especially with regard to water facilities, distribution and capacity; Waikoloa emergency access road; emergency routes in Waimea, Puako and Kawaihae; new water facilities cost/potential; Capital Improvement Program; where to accommodate new growth within the district; and communicating with Hawaiian Homelands (DHHL) regarding future zoning intentions as it impacts water capacity for the Kawaihae area. The next Regular Meeting of the South Kohala Action Committee is scheduled for July 24, 2017 in Waimea at the Lily Yoshimatsu Senior Center (Waimea Senior Center). ADJOURNMENT: Vice Chair Diane Kaneali'i moved to adjourn the meeting. Second by Julia Ann Alos. Motion passed with unanimous consent.
