ÅA Day in the LifeÆ is a recent event that was held on Oahu. It
featured an ensemble from NYC that traveled to Hawaii with real
stories of survivors played by actresses. The event was held at
KS Kapalama Campus and University of Hawaii Campus Center
Ballroom. Perhaps this could be an idea to create ensemble
through Hawaii County. Female ensemble consisted of girls age
14-20.
Cyd passed out literature regarding ÅJetblue & Together We Rise
Sweet CasesÆ Project. This might be a project that we could
garner support for.
Understanding and Recognizing Trafficking in Persons workshop
to be held in Kona. Kona has largest advocacy group supporting
Human Trafficking on island so far.
Cyd will connect with ChildrenÈs Justice Center to explore
possible campaign (i.e. Number of foster children) and Hawaiian
Airlines for possible duffle bags for children at first contact. Duffle
bag could potentially be embroidered with a symbol that is
meaningful.
Cyd also shared ACE Ã a study conducted by Kaiser Permanente.
II. OLD BUSINESS
A. Teen Dating Violence
Jewel reported that a plan has been developed to allocate funds
toward the new card layout which was created by Mele.
Possible idea to keep costs down is to run the card ordering
through Vista Print.

Jewel at next monthÈs meeting.

Conversation started with UH Conference Center to take lead on
logistics for next HIWLF Summit.

made by Jewel and seconded by Mele.
Motion approved and carried.
ACTION: Farrah will send proof file and request for purchase of paper to Lisa.

ÅAwareness.Æ Subcommittee member Jewel, reached out to
Hawaii Tribune Herald contact Jeff Hansel. The idea is to write a
story to increase awareness.
Hawaii has a low number of call-ins to the Hotline. The
approximate number of call-ins for the State of HI totals 60.
Human Trafficking Sub-committee needs to carry on
conversation, develop a plan, which they will then share with
CSW.
