PEACE EXHIBITS ON DISPLAY AT AUPUNI CENTER
Peace exhibits, on loan from Soka Gakkai International USA (SGI-USA), will
be on display in the County of Hawaii’s Aupuni Center, November 13 –
November 21. The public is welcome to view the exhibits during business
hours, 8am – 4pm.
The themes of the peace exhibits are Victory Over Violence (VOV) and
Transforming the Human Spirit. Created in 1999, by youthful members of the
SGI-USA, VOV is a movement to help inspire young people throughout the
world to identify and root out violence in their daily lives and their
communities, and as a way to support the United Nations “Culture of Peace”
initiative.
The goal of the VOV program is to contribute to a culture of peace through
dialogue and action, while encouraging respect, trust and friendship among
people regardless of race, religion and culture.
