I am writing in support of Michael J. Udovic, Esq., to be included on Hawai'i
Labor Relations Board's list of arbitrators.
The mission of the Labor Relations Board is to protect the rights of State and
County workers and to protect the right of public unions to bargain collectively, in
balance with the employer's rights to manage operations by law, and to fairly resolve
labor disputes.
Mr. Udovic, who is currently a Per Diem District Court Judge for the Third Circuit
Court, served with distinction as Deputy Corporation Counsel for the County of Hawai'i
from September 2004 to June 2014 as a litigator. Notably, he was the Lead Counsel for
the County in the Interest Arbitration for the Fire Department in 2013.
Mr. Udovic is known for his professionalism and fairness, and will serve
admirably as an arbitrator for HLRB. I wholeheartedly support Mr. Udovic's inclusion on
