Dear Mr. Cook,
I understand your frustration in getting your veteran's specialty license plate. The
County is required by law to verify eligibility of veterans for specialty plates. Its extra
humbug, but I understand that the VA Office at 70 Lanihuli Street in Hilo may be able to
certify your DD214 copy. If they are able to certify this copy, you may use it to obtain
your veteran specialty plate at the County's DMV. Here's the phone number if you want
to call ahead: 969-3833.
