portun ty to support HB 1908, HD 1.
in my testimony at a prior hearing, I expressed hope that even the most ardent
firearm enthusiast would agree that there is no legitimate need for devices that
accelerate the rate of fire of a semiautomatic firearm. That was naive, to say the least.
Firearms legislation seems to be controversial no matter what its content.
1 was somewhat heartened that the National Rifle Association testimony on HB
1900 in Judiciary did not object to the concept of aliy gun regulation, but rather that the
language was too broad and overreaching. That being the case, perhaps HI 1908 HD
1 will, be more acceptable.
Thank you for taking up this issue, and I urge you to approve HB 1908, HD 1.
