Dear Mayor Carvalho:
RE: Kaua'i and Hawai'i Island Planning and Public Works
Peer to Peer Exchange
Last year Kaua'i County and Mau'i County participated in a peer-to-peer
exchange on transit oriented/ready development, multi -modal and built environment
strategies. Participants raved about the opportunity to learn from one another,
especially, within the context of neighbor island scale and issues. I believe a peer-to-
peer exchange between our Kaua'i and Hawai'i County would build upon the great
collaboration already started between counties. I respectfully request that we support
our respective Planning and Public Works departments to pursue a peer -to -pear
exchange this year.
Sincerely,
Harry Kim, Mayor
County of Hawai'i
