DATE: Tuesday, May 1, 2018 TIME: 5:00 pm o PLACE: Cooper Center Zo (19-4030 Wright Rd, Volcano, HI 96785) v —+= O "I AGENDA =m CALL TO ORDER r.J D� ROLL CALL ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: (Approval of Addendum and/or Supplemental Agenda (requires six votes, and must comply with Hawaii Revised Statutes § 92-7(d)) ANNOUNCEMENTS: PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS: Members of the public are invited to speak to any items on the agenda. To be recognized, please fill out a yellow request form and submit it to Planning Department Staff or the Action Committee Chairperson prior to the Public Comment portion of the meeting. Comments should be limited to three (3) minutes in length per agenda item, subject to the discretion of the Chair of the CDP Action Committee. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: The Action Committee will consider the draft minutes of the April 3, 2018 meeting. BUSINESS: 1. The Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) Update on the Wao Kele o Puna Comprehensive Management Plan: Land Management Specialist, Kalena Blakemore, will provide a brief update on the implementation status of the Wao Kele o Puna Comprehensive Management Plan. 2. Update on the Building in Puna Brochure: The Planning Department will update the Action Committee on the finalized Building in Puna Brochure. The informational brochure is a guide to protecting Puna's forests while building. 4. Update and Discussion on the Pahoa Regional Town Center Master Plan (PRTCM): The Planning Department will provide an update on the current status of the Pahoa Regional Town Center Master Plan consultant. The Action Committee will discuss possible community resources that would benefit the consultant in the development of the PRTCM. In addition, the Action Committee will consider establishing an investigatory subcommittee for the PRTCM. NOTICE: The purpose of the public hearings is to afford all interested persons a reasonable opportunity to be heard on the above items. According to the Operating Guidelines of the Community Development Plan Action Committee, a person desiring to submit oral or written testimony shall indicate her/his name and whether the testimony is her/his behalf or as a representative of an organization or individual. Written testimony shall be submitted with an original and nine copies prior to testifying. The Committee would appreciate timely submittal to the Planning Department at least one week prior to the meeting date to allow for mailing and thorough Committee review. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service, other reasonable modification, or language interpretation to access this meeting please contact the Planning Department at (808) 961-8288 as soon as possible, but no later than five working days prior to the meeting date, to arrange for accommodations. "Other reasonable modification" refers to communication methods or devices for people with disabilities who are mentally and/or physically challenged. If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawai'i County Clerk within five days of becoming a lobbyist. (Article 15, Section 2-91.3(b), Hawai'i County Code). A lobbyist means, "any individual engaged for pay or other consideration who spends more than five hours in any month or $275 in any six-month period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative or administrative action by communicating or urging others to communicate with public officials." (Article 15, Section 2-91.3(a)(6), Hawai'i County Code).
