Following Monday’s meeting, the County will hold another community meeting on Thursday, May 10, at 5:30 p.m. at the Pahoa High School cafeteria. County and State officials, as well as utilities staff, will be providing updates, and will be available to answer questions. Meanwhile, an Eruption Information Center is open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church hall in Pahoa. General information regarding the eruption, practical information for evacuated residents, as well as social services for evacuated residents will be provided in this one-stop shop. During this very trying time, we want the community to be informed, and be assured that they are getting the most accurate information regarding the ongoing eruption event in Puna.
