EXECUTIVE SESSION
The commission will meet in executive session to consider discipline and charges against
officers or employees of the Hawaii Police Department where matters affecting privacy will
be involved, to consider sensitive matters relating to public safety, and may consult with
Corporation Counsel on questions and issues pertaining to the commission's powers,
duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities pursuant to HRS 92-5 (a) (2) (4) (6) and the
Hawaii County Charter Section 13-20 (b).
CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF COMPLAINTS (Briefly summarized.)
• HPC 18-13: Complainant alleged that he was arrested for no reason and Tased. He
also complained about how the officers conducted the arrest.
• HPC 18-14: Complainant alleged that when an officer responded to a call about her
son not returning home, the officer made a comment about corrective action which she
felt was child abuse.

The Police Commission's next monthly meeting is scheduled for July 20, 2018, at 9:00
a.m. in the West Hawaii Civic Center, Building G Conference Room, 74-5044 Ane
Keohokalole Highway, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
