They administer regulatory and code enforcements to improve the health and safety of our (family). All divisions perform key functions during Civil Defense emergencies. Administration Division Provides key technical support services and community outreach to all other divisions within the department in four major areas: dissemination of information and community outreach, clerical support, fiscal coordination, and human resources. Engineering Division The Engineering primary responsibility is to plan, design, review, and construct road, bridge and flood control facilities. The division also enforces applicable regulatory requirements for Chapter 10 County Code (HCC), on grading, grubbing and stockpiling, Chapter 22, HCC, on the County Right-of-Way, and Chapter 27, HCC, on flood control. The division also reviews applications for and change of zone. Required Permits: Grading: The following items are exceeded: 100 cubic yards of excavation or fill; Vertical height of excavation or fill measured at its highest point exceeds five (5) feet; The general and localized drainage patterns, with respect to abutting property, lines altered. Grubbing: The area cleared exceeds one- acre (43,560- sq. feet). Work within the County Right-of-Way: Any work within the County Right-of-Way before construction; i.e., landscaping, utility lines, signs, driveways, sidewalk repairs, etc. Publication Dispenser: includes permits to place newspaper stands, news racks, or other dispensers of handbills or other printed/written materials on or over aCounty sidewalk. Sidewalk Use: includes permits to place garbage receptacles, decorative planters, public benches, required provisions for the physically challenged or other items which will be placed inor on the County street for non-commercial purposes that are deemed by the directorto promote public welfare.
