Aloha action committee,
My heart and prays go out to those of you negatively impacted by the events happening in Puna.
As some of you are aware, I have been an advocate for connectivity and road redundancy in Puna for. over -a . _.
decade.
Once again Kilauea has demonstrated to us the awe of the creative process and the destructive consequences of
nature.
I was impressed with how our Govenor, mayor and state and county agencies responded to the immediate needs
of paving and opening chain of craters that was intended to be an evacuation route.
They also paved other areas needed for the health and safety of those working the eruption.
When I think of the time and resources spent a question arises.
What disallows the County/ state from appropriating funds now to acquire Connectivity location ( CL) lands?
During this time it is prudent to have the CLs in place so if/ when they are needed the crews can come in to
develop them.
What I am not saying is doze them all.
What I am saying is aquire them.
We are aware that when disaster is here much can be done with attitudes and alerted rules in place.
Please "act" on this.
Have the County Council support this
Respectfully,
Stephanie Bath
