RE: 2008 Edition of the Charter
This memorandum is submitted to the chair and members of the 2010 Hawai‘i County Charter
Commission as notification of two errors in the 2008 Edition of the Charter, as provided to the
Commission.
Additional review discovered the following discrepancies (Illustration attached):
1. Page 4, section 3-8, Actions of the Council: the word “at”, as appearing in the second
sentence between the words “except” and “otherwise” should be “as”.
2. Page 50, section 13-21, Cooperation with Other Agencies: the word “and” should be
inserted between the words “states” and “with”, as they appear in the last line of this
section.
These discrepancies do not require any action on the part of the Charter Commission. The version of
the Charter provided to you was inaccurate. Please correct the provided version.
The version offered to the public, both on-line and hard-copy, has been rectified.
