RE: Agenda Fri Oct 9, Testimony
My written testimony follows. Because I may not be able to attend in person, please provide my
concerns and reasoning to Council for review.
Propose:
Amend the Hawaii County Charter to include community development plans (CDPs) and CDP
action committees to be voted on by the Charter Commission.
Reason:
As an informed Hawaii County resident and FoPF member, I have many logical reasons to
support strengthening and protecting the PCDP. CDPs should be protected from delays because
they are so important to the structure of our county government.
Purpose:
Provide live broadcasting and on-demand videos of County meetings on the Internet.
Reason:
Citizens have the right to hear and see County meetings and the Internet is the most feasible way
to do so. Internet access is logical and compassionate for citizens who are handicapped, elderly,
with tight work schedule, etc. It is a win-win for the public and government.
