Re: Summary of Presentation to the Hawai‘i Island Chamber of Commerce,
Government Affairs Committee
Dear Chair Haitsuka and Members of the Hawai‘i County Charter Commission,
This communication is to inform the commission that I was contacted by the
Hawai‘i Island Chamber of Commerce, Government Affairs Committee (“Chamber
Committee”) to give a short presentation on the charter, the charter commission, and the
proposals being considered by the commission. In a brief presentation to the Chamber
Committee I provided the following information on December 8, 2009:
1. The names of the commission members;
2. A history of the charter;
3. How the charter is amended;
4. A list of the proposed amendments;
5. Information on how to participate in commission meetings.
I have also been contacted by the League of Women Voters to give a similar
presentation to them in January. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please
do not hesitate to contact me.
