Re: Request to the County Council for Report Deadline Extension
Chair Haitsuka and Members of the Hawai‘i County Charter Commission,
Due to the upcoming March 13, 2010 deadline for the commission to submit its report to
the Hawai‘i County Council, I recommend that this commission request a deadline extension
from the county council. This would serve to give the commission more time to complete its
work in finalizing the proposed charter amendments. For discussion purposes, I recommend a
one month extension request, so that the council receives the commission’s report on April 13,
2010. This should allow for the commission’s report to be held on the council’s April 21, 2010
meeting.
