Some of you,apparently,do not fully realize how tough the 2006 battle was fought by voters to get
that 2%on the ballot and that a large majority voted FOR it.The voters'decision needs to be
respected by you and the Charter Commission should let the voters decide again whether or not to
set aside 2%of property taxes.NOT 0.5%,as is now being suggested.
2%is really nothing in the County's budget,over all,and yet it can make a huge difference in
protecting and saving lands for Hawaii Island's keiki and their keiki.
I hope you will follow the wishes of the people and put 2%on the ballot instead of 0.5%.
