RE: Land Fund
Dear Commissioners:
Hawaii Island is cherished by all because of the rural nature of the island. All efforts
should be made to keep as much land as possible in an undeveloped state.
Please reinstate the full 2% to the Land Fund. This fund can be used to leverage
matching funds from other funding sources to expand the potential to acquire
conservation acreage. This fund money should be used only for land acquisition and not
park maintenance.
This fund and it should be preserved in the form that was approved by the voters of
Hawaii County. Thank you for your consideration.
