Please allow the voters to state their will again on the 2% for land preservation fund, with the
language written by Debbie Hecht to insure that the funds are used for land acquisition, and not
park maintenance, etc. Do not modify it with the amendments proposed by Mayor Kenoi's office
to water down the initiative and divert it from the intended purpose. By allowing the voters to
affirm their desire to use 2% of their tax money for preservation of important lands, you will be
supporting democracy. Any other action on your part would be a blow against democratic
government in support of an oligarchy where aristocrats rule in defiance of the wishes of the
people.
