Dear Mr . Sakata : •
We would like to . urge inclusion of the Charter Amendment
proposed by Committee on the Status of Women to add to the
Mayor ' s duties and responsibilities department compliance
with policy _ statements and intent of the County Equal Employ-
ment Opportunity an.d_ to give the County- Personnel Director
responsibility- for providing communication of the requirements
of the plan.
Our reading of the 1968 Charter discloses no mention of the
plan or its implementation and we feel this amendment is ex-
tremely timely.
