Kobayashi: Thank you for the opportunity to discuss the capabilities of my firm in conjunction with your efforts to present the completed package of the Charter Commission to the public. As I mentioned to you, the primary strength of our firm is the written word. My background in journalism includes service with Far Eastern and Mainland newspapers, as well as with the Hawaii Tribune-Herald and The Honolulu Advertiser. From 1970 to 1977, I handled , on a full-time basis, the public relations program of the Boise Cascade Corp. , for Waikoloa, and , since 1977, I have had my own public relations consulting firm. I am an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America. Some of the clients I have served since opening my firm in 1977 include: ---The Sure Save Super Markets, working under the supervision of Tom Okuyama, president, on an overall program of local, state and national public relations. 1977 to present. ---Linco Construction Co. , Inc. , working under the supervision of S. R. Schenck, president, on an image building program within the local and statewide community. 1977 to present. ---Hawaii Island United Way, Inc. , working under the supervision of Francis Takahashi, executive director, on campaign publicity and year-around image building. 1977 to present. ---The Hilo Contractors ' Association, working under the supervision of Bob Santos, public relations chairman, in the production of a number of brochures and other image building programs. 1978 to present. ---The Hawaii County Police Department, working under the supervision of Chief Guy A. Paul and Captain Wayne Carvalho , on the writing and pub- lication of annual reports for the past three years and on Operation I-D, a community awareness program. ---The Honokaa Community Federal Credit Union, working under the super- vision of Katherine Mendes , manager, on a program of public relations and image building in conjunction with their move to a new building, COMM.
