HomeMy WebLinkAbout2018-08-01 Bamboo Patch Cleaning at Liliuokalani Gardens on August 3 -- press releaseHelp the Bamboo Patch Sing Friday, August 3, from 8 a.m. to noon Kenji Kuroshima is a bamboo maven, tour guide, tea practitioner, official photographer for Merrie Monarch Festival, and member of the board of directors of Friends of Lili'uokalani Gardens. He strongly asserts that "when bamboo is happy, bamboo sings." Kenji once again will lead a crew of volunteers in periodic cleaning of the bamboo patch at Lili'uokalani Gardens. Please join in the fun and wear gardening clothes, closed toe shoes, and gloves. Glasses or other protective eyewear are a good idea. Refreshments provided. Members of the public who wish bamboo poles may stop by the pile at the edge of the sidewalk on Banyan Drive between 9:30 a.m. and noon. The remainder of the pile will be cleared away after noon.
