Call to Order: (Chair) Susan Shirachi called the meeting to start at 12:00 pm.

Member De Lima seconded the
motion with the revisions be
made. Motion to approve
minutes carried unanimously.
New Business
Chair Shirachi asked the Committee to take a
moment to read 4a on the Agenda.

New Business Presentation of the County of Hawaii Mass
continued... Transit Agency Administrator Maria "Sole"
Aranguiz.
Ms. Sole did a power point presentation on the
Mass Transit programs and answered a variety of
questions from the Committee.

Opportunity and ADA Officer Julie Rawlins
Chair Shirachi read Ms. Julie Rawlins report to
the Committee.
Report of the County of Hawaii Office of Aging
Director Kimo Alameda and the update on the
County's Website
Chair Shirachi read the report from Hawaii
County Office of Aging Director, Kimo Alameda.
Report of the County of Hawaii Parks &
Recreation Specialist II (Vacant Position)
Chair Shirachi informed the Committee that they
are going to be posting that position
I.Handout of Sub -Committees and Chairs
Chair Shirachi handed out information packets to
all Committee Members.
2.Communication and Outreach -
Committee Member Punihaole reported that when
doing outreach the Community expresses the
same concern, which has to do with
transportation. She reached out to both the
federation for the blind (West Hawaii Chapter)
and to the disabled veterans. Committee member
Punihaole also talked about the public's concern
for the "push button" at the entrances. Police
enforcement for the disability parking permits was
also another topic of concern.

Jessie Floyd of the Department of Developmental
Disability Council did a presentation for the
Committee.
3.Homeless Housing
Chair Shirachi was able to meet with some
providers that service the homeless and provided
some information brochures to the Committee.
Chair Shirachi is going to meet with the director
of HOPE Services Hawaii in the next 2 weeks and
will produce a report by the next meeting.
4.Parking Enforcement
Committee Member Punihaole and Committee
Member Tobosa had nothing to add to their
previous report on Parking enforcement.
3.Transporatation
Committee member Tobosa and Committee
Member Pratt were unable to attend the Mass
Transit open forum. However, Ms. Aranguiz was
able to provide the Committee with a lot of
information during her presentation.
g. Update on Recommendation Process with
Mayor Kim
Chair Shirachi informed the Committee that
whatever the Committee has collectively agreed
upon it does not need to come as a formal letter.
Based on what the Committee agrees on, Chair
Shirachi will relay it to Rose Bautista who will
then relay it to the Mayor.
h. Community Outreach -Booth Fees
Committee member Pratt talked about the AHA
(Able Hawaii Artists) festival. He felt that this
would be a great opportunity for Community
outreach. The event will be held on July 22"d and
booth fees are $10.00 for non-profit groups and
$25.00 for profit groups.

booth fees for both the Hilo and
Kona art festival, Committee
member Gonzales seconds. All
were in favor.

c. Fact Sheet Updates
Chair Shirachi mentioned the Fact Sheet was
updated and had been emailed to the Committee.
Ms. Shirachi also informed the Committee that the
fact sheet is ok to be used as a promotional piece
for the Committee.
d. By -Laws Revision- Status
Ms. Hall handed out copies of the revised By -
Laws (draft) to the Committee and discussed the
changes.
e. Outreach to West Hawaii Communities
