RE: Formation of Ad Hoc Committee — Section 10-15 and Section 10-16 of Hawai`i
County Charter; Relating to Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources
Preservation Fund and Maintenance Fund
This memorandum reports that, at its meeting held August 10, 2018, the Charter
Commission moved to form an Ad Hoc Committee (JAW HRS 92-2.5(b)(1)) to
investigate Hawai`i County Charter Section 10-15 and Section 10-16, for the purpose of
introducing recommendations for proposals to amend said Sections.
The members assigned to this Ad Hoc Committee are: Paul Hamano, Christopher "Kit"
Roehrig, Donna Springer, and Jennifer Zelko-Schlueter, with Commissioner Roehrig
designated as Chairperson.
The Ad Hoc Committee will present a report of its findings and recommendations (if any)
for placement on the next available meeting agenda, with the understanding that
discussion and deliberation on said findings and recommendations (if any) is not to occur
until a subsequent meeting of the Commission.
