RE: Formation of Ad Hoc Committee — Section 3-2 of Hawai`i County Charter;
Relating to Composition and Terms for Council Members
This memorandum reports that, at its meeting held September 14, 2018, the Charter
Commission moved to form an Ad Hoc Committee (IAW HRS 92-2.5(b)(1)) to
investigate Hawai`i County Charter Section 3-2, for the purpose of introducing
recommendations for proposals to amend said Section.
The members assigned to this Ad Hoc Committee are: William Bergin, Kevin Hopkins,
Sarah Rice, and Bobby Jean Leithead Todd, with Commissioner Rice designated as
Chairperson.
The Ad Hoc Committee will present a report of its findings and recommendations (if any)
for placement on the next available meeting agenda, with the understanding that
discussion and deliberation on said findings and recommendations (if any) is not to occur
until a subsequent meeting of the Commission.
