Quorum has been met. Welcome to new members! II. ROLL CALL PRESENT EXCUSED Brooke Derby, Chair Debra Toledo-Ebreo, Recording Secretary Lee -Ann Heely, Vice Chair Farrah -Marie Gomes, Corresponding Secretary Mele Spencer Jewel Castro Treasurer Cyd Hoffeld, ex -officio Jessica Yeh, Corp. Counsel Katherine "Kami" Bolster Andrew Langtry Mihaela Ryer III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES (May 10, 2018)) • Mele motioned to approve and Farrah seconded the May 10, 2018 minutes. Minutes approved as submitted. IV. TREASURER'S REPORT • April/May 2018 Financials • Budget Training process moving forward by Grant • Jewel asked that our budget be equal to $4500 • Unable to obtain funding from State CSW for fiscal year 2017-2018 Hawaii County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer • Since budget is already submitted; must amend budget • Per Jessica, once budget is adopted, CSW can only amend by ordinance (at least 2 bill readings) it must go through Council request • Lisa informed us that pcard request was submitted late and CSW is to now address the $1400 gift cards for Real Women Essay on the new fiscal budget 2018-2019 • Prosecutors office was asked in January 2018 by CSW to apply $1400 toward gift card purchase; $1400 was already part of our 2017-2018 fiscal budget; CSW did not miss a deadline — as noted — CSW requested purchase of gift cards in January 2-18 and cards were purchased in May 2-18 • Mele made a motion to obtain $1400 line item Real Women Essay Contest to Hawaii Island Women's Leadership Forum (HIWLM) and move funds to Friends of Future (FOF) from FOF for CSW Real Women's Leadership Summit and process it prior to June 25, 2018. Lee -Ann seconded motion. Motion carried. • Mele made motion to amend budget to move $1400 funds from Essay contest to HIWLF, Kami seconded. Motion approved • No Treasurers Report provided to Committee. Jewel and Brooke will meet with Lee Lord to discuss Prosecutors Office Deadline template so we are apprised of dates moving forward • Vote to Request Funds from CSW for Projects • Registration fee is covered by State CSW. August 1-4, 2018 NACSW Conference dates. Mele is paying airfare and hotel. • Update on how funds will be out into CSW account • $100 requested from State CSW needs to go in front of HCC for 2 bill readings • Update on deadlines for Fiscal Year Proceed with motion to shift funds from FOF to HIWLF before June 25, 2018 V. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC None. VI. CORRESPONDENCE None. VII. REPORTS • State CSW Liaison. • Cyd Hawaii Island, Maui and Kauai County will attend • NACSW conference date August 1-4, 2018 • HCCSW hosting a Young Feminist Leadership Committee staring with members from Oahu then will proceed to recruiting female youth from outer island.Cyd shared flyer 2 • Several funding requests were made and Hawaii County was only County that was awarded funding to support future events • Request was made to pay vendors directly, early on, as we plan in early stages for CSW projects. HCCSW will pay direct to vendors • Dr. Kealoha Fox researched and presented Haumana from Office of Hawaiian Affairs- looking at mental health, physical, motherhood, intimate partner, civic engagement, what's happening with native Hawaiian female populations and how to mitigate the challenges. Focus is on host culture and how we can help native Hawaiians • April — equal pay, sexual violence day, denim day, tropic care (military exercise — free medical, dental, vision, care offered by military June 18— 28, 2018. • Saturday Kea'au High School community event to give information • Pride parade and festival is June 30, 2018 at Mo'oheau Band Stand • Women's Health month is September 2018 so advise Cyd if there is interest in hosting a project for Women's Health month. Holly Algood, consulted with Planned parenthood international and PP in Connecticut, she lives in Hawi and has her LLC in organizational effectiveness • Hawaii Women's Coalition — Bills pending Governor's action; full picture of Legislative landscape will be available after July 10, 2018 OLD BUSINESS A. Teen Dating Violence • Updated new cell phone safety cards distributed to CSW • UH Women's Center printed 5000 cards for $374.30; will be added as "in-kind" • Committee thanked Farrah and the UH Women's Center that printed 85 Real Women Essay Contest Winner's Booklets for $714 donated by UH Women's Center, these contributions will be added as in kind • Eddie Cash, Domestic Violence Awareness Committee, Mei Lee, President; Fiscal project sponsored by Friends of the Future reached out to Brooke to partner with CSW • Farrah will distribute cards • In-kind will be itemized for cell phone safety cards B. Real Women Essay Contest 3 • Committee thanked Farrah's group from UH Student Support Division led the printing of materials needed for the Real Women Essay contest (letters, booklets, program directories) • Total attendees included 14 rsvp 13 showed up, great venue, service and program to honor winners, teachers and family members • 80 in attendance included winners and families • Hawaii County Council Chair Woman Val Poindexter and County Council member Sue Lee Loy attended. C. Hawaii Island Women's Leadership Forum A) October 19, 2018 Sheraton Keauhou B) Meeting monthly; working on programs; working on keynote speakers; save the dates will be sent out as soon as details finalized C) Theme: Courage to dream, rise to the challenge. Inspired by Phoenix rising, correlation to lava flow and committee is seeking scholarships to support attendees from affected lava flow areas D. CSW Brochure A) Table for next meeting. ACTION: Farrah will email draft of CSW brochure prior to next meeting. E. Cell Phone Safety Cards A) Farrah will distribute to next meeting in July 2018. F. Urgent Services Directory A) Farrah shared log update, 3000 distributed to date B) Shared process on how we update Urgent Services Directory done in past years by UH Division of Student Affairs. Student in Student Affairs helped to call all numbers for urgent services directory. In future, if budget gets cut, printing of document may not be possible, where we may need to seek additional funding for partner support. Discussions to be placed online have happened, but the hard copy is so important for families in need G. Human Trafficking A) Sub -committee has not met recently B) Two educational presentations Hilo July 13, Waimea July 14th Ho'oala Na Pua - organization on Oahu trying to fight Human Trafficking C) Encouraged CSW members to get educated so that we can partner with Ho'oala Na Pua to pursue future projects and support D) Mele shared that Tribune Herald is willing to do article but CSW would need to find a person who had lived an experience with this area 51 E) Brooke connected with Ho'ola Na Pua out of Oahu. Training set for September 14th in Hilo — Voluntary Orientation and Advocate Training at 5:30pm F) Lee -Ann connected via email with Renata Del Moral, Federal Social Worker and Dr. Nicole Littenberg of PSCHawaii, a non- profit working in human trafficking G) Sub -committee will continue to discuss and share updates at next month's meeting H. Equal Pay A) Keep on agenda for next meeting Review 2018-2019 Calendar of Events A) Calendar of Meetings to be discussed at next meeting J. CSW Membership Nominations A) Jewel motioned to open for nominations from the floor for any additions from the CSW, Farrah seconded. Term is 1 year. Motion (bylaws state it will be summoned two weeks prior to voting taking place). B) Farrah suggested the challenges of following bylaws with prosecutor's C) Farrah nominated Slate as shown Brooke Derby, Chair; Lee - Ann Heely, Vice Chair, Jewel Castro, Treasurer, Debra Toledo- Ebreo, Recording Secretary; Mele Spencer, Corresponding Secretary. Andrew seconded motion. Motion carried. D) Farrah moved to close nominations, Jewel seconded. Motion carried. E) Kami motioned to vote on elections for new offices, Jewel seconded motion. Motion carried unanimously. Keep on agenda for next meeting A) Review of Sub Committees (at least 2 members; up to 4) B) Mele motioned to create subcommittee for Legislative action. Kami seconded. Motion carried. New Programs and Projects • Add action item for next meeting Invoice for $100 for HSCSW to pay for our NACW Annual Membership Fee III. ANNOUNCEMENTS (relating to CSW) • Next CSW Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 10am - 12 pm on Vid-Conference in Hilo and Kona. Brooke will locate vid conference location. • Mele requesting calendar and binder for new CSW members 5 IV. ADJOURNMENT • Jewel motion to end meeting. Kami seconded motioned.
