HWY. 11 ROADWAY RESURFACING WORK IN KAINALIU BEGINNING

The County Highway Maintenance Division will begin resurfacing work on the Māmalahoa Hwy. (Hwy.11)
between Teshima’s Restaurant and Sandy’s Drive Inn, approximately .9 miles on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 to
Monday, October 10, 2018. Work is scheduled between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., weather and
construction conditions permitting.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and encouraged to use the Ali‘i Drive Extension (Māmalahoa Bypass)
as an alternate route. Alternating lane closures will be in effect and work will be done on one lane at a time.
Travel in both directions will be provided.
The County of Hawai‘i Department of Public Works apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and
thanks the community for their patience and understanding.
