South Kohala CDP Implementation Matrix:
This Matrix was copied from the 2008 Final Draft of the South Kohala Community Development
is provided for the
convenience of Action Committee Members to fill in the status of each action.
8.2 IMPLEMENTATION MATRIX (pg. 149)
Table 8.1 is the implementation matrix for the South Kohala CDP. The Implementation Matrix
provides a summary of the actions needed to implement elements of the various Action Programs
that have been outlined for the four focus areas of Waimea, Waikoloa Village, Kawaihae, and
Puakö. The Action Programs are meant to be actions that can be implemented within a short -
term period upon ena ctment of the CDP.

The 2018 Legislature authorized $1.6 million for a land purchase for the Waikoloa Library. The State Librarian favors plans that would include a large community center/room and small
rooms, plus the library itself. A third park opened at Kamakoa Nui in 2013, improving park facilities significantly. Waikoloa School expanded to include a Middle School beginning in
SY 07 and has been fully serving 6 since SY '09
