CALL TO ORDER
APPROVAL OF THE AUGUST 15, 2018 MEETING MINUTES
3. PUBLIC TESTIMONY ON AGENDA ITEMS — All testimony shall be relevant to the
meeting agenda's specific items. At the discretion of the Chair, public testimony may
also be taken when each agenda items is discussed.
4. NEW BUSINESS
a. A Friendly reminder — Our mutual acknowledgement of the equal standing of all
committee members, and our role to advise the Mayor on issues of equal access
to County's programs/services/activities.
b. Introduction of new Committee Members: Ms. Heather Dansdill and Laina
Torres
c. Act 217 — an informational presentation by Senator Russell E. Ruderman (author
of SB 2461)
d. Housing Options for persons with disabilities - Who are homeless or those at risk
of being homeless — a panel discussion by Housing and Community Specialist
Sharon Hirota, Hope Services Director of Operations Janice Ikeda, and East
Hawai'i Director Denise Oguma
e. Report of the County of Hawaii Equal Opportunity and ADA Officer Julie
Rawlins.
f. Report of the County of Hawaii Office of Aging Director Kimo Alameda, with
budget overview by Hawaii County Office of Aging Staff Ms. Christina Raine.
g. Slate of Nominations for New Executive Committee for positions of Secretary
and Vice Chair - Election to be in November.

NOTICE TO LOBBYISTS
If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawaii County Clerk within five days of becoming a
lobbyist (Article 15, Section 2-91.3(b), Hawaii County Code).
A lobbyist means, "any individual engaged for pay or other consideration who spends more than five
hours in any month or $275 in any six-month period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative
or administrative action by communicating or urging others to communicate with public officials." (Article
15, Section 2-91.3(a)(6), Hawaii County Code.)
