HomeMy WebLinkAboutPublic Notice – Mainstream Voucher Program 2018PUBLIC NOTICE Office of Housing and Community Development Mainstream Voucher Program ONLY As required, the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) is providing notice that on November 27, 2018, it will begin accepting on-line applications for the Mainstream Voucher Program. The Mainstream Voucher Program provides federal voucher rental assistance for eligible non -elderly disabled households in the County of Hawaii. An eligible applicant is defined as a household composed of one or more non -elderly person with disabilities, which may include additional household members who are non -elderly persons with disabilities. A non -elderly person is defined as a person 18 years of age or older and less than 62 years of age. A household where the sole member is an emancipated minor is not an eligible household. Applicants who are non -elderly persons with disabilities and provides documentation at the time that they meet with a Housing Specialist to support that they are transitioning out of institutional and other segregated settings, at serious risk of institutionalization, homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless will be given a preference over those who do not meet this criteria. The Mainstream Voucher Program provides rental assistance to help low income households obtain affordable housing which is safe, decent, and sanitary. 2018 Applicable Income Limits Number of Household Members 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 27,500 31,400 35,350 39,250 42,400 45,550 48,700 51,850 The Pre -Application form will be available on-line at www.hawaiicounty. iov/online-services from 8:OOAM on November 27, 2018. All applications received by the OHCD will be assigned an initial position number. If the OHCD receives more applications than available Mainstream vouchers, the OHCD will use a randomizing system to determine the applicant's final position number on the waiting list. Only applications received by 4:30PM on December 7, 2018, will be included in the initial randomizing system. All applications received after 4:30PM on December 7, 2018, will be placed on the waiting list in the order in which it was received.
