Minutes <br /> Regular Meeting of the Pension Board <br /> August 29, 2016 <br /> County Building, First Floor—Council Room, Hilo, Hawaii <br /> CALL TO ORDER: The quarterly meeting of the Pension Board was called to order at 1:30 p.m. by <br /> Chair Guillerma"Irma" G. Sumera. <br /> ROLL CALL: <br /> Present: Guillerma"Irma" G. Sumera, Chair <br /> Nyala Neill, Vice-Chair <br /> Emma Sousa, Member <br /> Stewart Maeda, County Clerk <br /> Also Present: Dee Torres, Secretary, Office of the County Clerk-Council <br /> Deanna Sako, Director, Finance Department <br /> Belinda Hall, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br /> Kay Oshiro, Controller, Finance Department <br /> Linda Young, Payroll Processing Supervisor, Finance Department <br /> STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS: (There were none). <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES: February 29, 2016 <br /> Ms. Neill moved to approve the minutes of February 29, 2016. Seconded by Ms. Sousa. <br /> The motion was carried by the following vote: <br /> AYES: Board Members Neill, Sousa, and Chair Sumera—3. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Chair Sumera proceeded with the application for pension from the County of Hawai`i for <br /> Ms. Arlene T. Araki (retired County of Hawaii Parks and Recreation Band Member). <br /> Ms. Sousa made a motion to approve the pension application of Ms. Araki. Seconded by <br /> Ms. Neill. <br /> The motion was carried by the following vote: <br /> AYES: Board Members Neill, Sousa, and Chair Sumera—3. <br /> At this time, Chair Sumera asked Ms. Young to present the current County of Hawaii Pensioners' <br /> report (attached). <br />
