Subject: Preserve PONC as -is
Aloha,
I urge you not to cut the property tax rate funding PONC, transfer administration of the maintenance fund, nor change
the perpetuity clause. Preservation of open spaces for everyone to enjoy, including non humans and low-income
humans, is a critical component of the high quality of life we enjoy on this island. The current funding is already the bare
minimum to meet some of this need. If anything, the program should be expanded, not cut.
The perpetuity clause is essential for leveraging outside funds, and would be counterproductive to alter.
