Growth Management Community Group Meeting
Monday, January 07, 2019
5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
Old Judiciary Building, Kapa'au
ACTION COMMITTEE REPORT:
Discussed the AC membership and meetings. Next AC meeting (January 29t'')
Discussed Priority List and continued delay in General Plan proceedings.
PLANNING DEPARTMENT APPLICATIONS:
No Applications to review although multiple projects are seemingly on deck.
Discussed updated Land Use Summary Report. County recently updated to include pending
subdivisions from 2010 — 2015. They do not have the capacity to annually review tentative approvals.
A renewed attempt will be made to populate the list through the Administrative Permit Division.
Discussed the DWS plans for a well at Hala'ula. (DWS Job No. 2016-1045). The bid opening is
scheduled for February 14t''. A community meeting will be held prior to construction. DWS has
executed a MOU with the property owner to allow the subdivision and land purchase.
Tangent discussion on parking at Pololu and potential PCRS out there.
DISCUSSION ON 2019 WORK PLAN:
Reviewed previous years procedures and practices. Will draft for and approve 2019 Work Plan at next
meeting.
One part of that will be to implement a Community Design Guideline addressing signage issues to
serve as a mechanism for the Action Committee and the Community to be part of the application
process for signs as well as other community concerns.
The Growth Management Subcommittee meets the first Monday of each month from 5:30-7pm
at the Old Judiciary Building in Kapa'au. Everyone is welcome.
