Dear Mr. Lipps and Students:
Thank you for your letter of January 2, 2019 regarding your visit to Central Fire
Station and your conversation with firefighters about procuring a brush truck for the
Hawaii Fire Station.
I'm happy to report that the Hawaii Fire Department has a brush truck under
construction, and it is scheduled for delivery to the Hawaiian Paradise Park fire station
in the summer of this year.
Just for your information, brush trucks are custom-built, and new brush trucks
cost more than $250,000, according to the Hawai'i Fire Department.
Thank you to you and your students for their concern about the needs of the
Hawaii Fire Department, and for taking the time to write to me.
