Dear Mrs. Jackson:
Thank you very much for your letter of January 7, 2019. First of all, I want to
express my regret that you and your husband were unable to sit while you waited to get
your driver's licenses renewed.
Our Department of Public Works are building benches to replace the worn chairs
inside the Vehicle Registration & Licensing office in Hilo.
We are also working with the Finance and Police Department to see what we can
do to install benches or folding chairs for people waiting outside the Vehicle Registration
& Licensing office. You are absolutely correct that the area outside gets very wet when
it rains, so seating under the covered portion of the waiting area would be a needed
improvement.
We are trying hard to make things better for our customers, and we really
appreciate you taking the time to share your helpful suggestions.
Aloha,
Harry Ki
