Aloha Commissioners
Returning to live once again on this most intriguing and exciting island, I was thrilled beyond words when the County
adopted the 2% Fund for conservation lands.
Having seen much of Oahu NOT SAVED for the public in perpetuity, this bold move for Hawaii County reinforced my love
for our island and the people who
helped govern it.
Please SUPPORT CA -18 and THROW OUT CA -27. The public (people like me who become Friends of a much loved
community) can support the building of bathrooms
and maintenance of public properties. Yay for Public -Private partnerships! But Imminent Domain can create bad
feelings and a sense of government overreach of power.
May our special places be kept from over development and may we all become shareholders in caring for our aina.
