Members Present: (Chair) Patricia Walters, Linda Gonzales, Penny Alcoran, Pamela Punihaole Members Excused: Heather Dansdill, Laura Tobosa, Sam Nagasawa, Byron Yogi, Susan Shirachi, Laina Torres, Malia Hall. Members Absent: Christina Parke Guests Present: Alvie Bannister Topic/Agenda Discussion Action Item Chair Patricia Walters asked for a roll call The Committee members acknowledged their presence. Review/Approve Approval of the January 16, 2019 Meeting January 16`i' meeting minutes not Minutes Minutes available for review/approval. 4. New Business a. Speaker, Alvie Bannister, McKinney-Vento a. Alvie Bannister introduced Liaison for homeless children and disabled herself and informed the youth. Committee that as a Liaison, her main goal is to ensure stability and education among children in homeless situations. Their goal is to remove barriers in attendance and to get full participation in schools for children experiencing Tage 1 of 2 Hawai 'i County is an equal opportunity provider and employer. An Area Agency on Aging homelessness. This ranges from pre-school to high school education. Their organization will report to the Department of Education annually. b. Report of the County of Hawaii Equal No report from Ms. Julie Opportunity and ADA Officer Julie Rawlings Rawlins. c. Future Speakers: Dr. Alameda, Veteran's Ms. Walters mentioned that she with Disabilities would like to work with Dr. Alameda to get a speaker from a Veteran's with Disabilities. Committee Member Pam Punihaole asked if it would be ok to invite a speaker from the DAV. Chair Walters agreed and asked if Ms. Punihaole would invite a speaker for the next meeting. d. Sub Committee Reports. Committee member Penny Alcoran reported on the Safety Committee. She informed the Committee about major safety issues for the safety of the Senior Housing in Honokaa. e. Reminder to please update all changes in Chair Walters asked the email addresses and phone number. Committee, to make sure their contact information is up to date. 5. Old Business a. New table cloth and banner activies.
