Aloha Members of the Charter Commission,
We support the 2% Land Fund's CA -18 - to allow Stewardship Groups to Pay People to Work on Behalf of
the Land.
We are trying to strengthen the 2% Land Fund Program.
Only nine percent of all monies in the Maintenance Fund were awarded to the stewardship non -profits in
the last six years and that the Maintenance Fund will be greatly helped if a full time staff person IN
ADDITION to the existing PONC staff can administer the Maintenance Fund Program can facilitate this
process.
HERE'S WHAT WE ARE PROPOSING: THE MAJOR ADDITION IS IN RED:
(0_ No officer, board member, or employee of the 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization or the organization
that operates under the umbrella of a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization shall receive a salary or payment for
labor, or receive any reimbursement for the stewardship work on the project, ,iiir ll, _ fly_Jira_I Jli j_ ii

agreement so stating these conditions and submit it with the application.
We were involved the three times the 2% Land Fund went before the voters. We collected signatures,
waved signs and educated voters.
