Subject: Special Election
Aloha, my name is Lee McIntosh and I live in Kau. I am submitting testimony to discourage the Charter Commission from
calling a special election. There is no reason to rush forward with a special election. The voters need time to research
and understand the proposals you are submitting. If you rush the process, then the outcome will be a lot of blank votes
and low voter participation. Calling a special election will place an unnecessary financial burden on our county budget.
Taxes and fees have been raised across the board, and I for one would not like to see any more increases. This will also
cause undue confusion among the voters, as we are expecting to vote on these proposals during the next general
election. Please do not call a special election. I thank you for the opportunity to testify and for considering my
testimony.
Lee McIntosh
