From: Marjorie Erway <merway@hawaii.rr.com> <br />Sent: Wednesday, April 24, 2019 8:05 PM <br />To: Charter Commission <br />Subject: suggested changes to CA -18 <br />A few minor AND VERY IMPORTANT changes are suggested for CA -18 to strengthen the 2% Land Fund are: <br />- A full time staff person in addition to the already existing PONC staff will be very helpful to better administer the <br />Maintenance Fund Program. <br />- suggested wording for the (6)- 501c3's can be paid for specific duties that are approved as part of their business plan. <br />The 501c3 organization shall sign an agreement so stating those condition and submit it with their application. <br />Right now, 501c3s actually have to hire outside contractors to do some of the work. That simply isn't right! THey need <br />to be able to pay people to help care for the land that is under their care.
