KAILUA VILLAGE DESIGN COMMISSION <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> MINUTES <br /> Meeting Date: May 21, 2019 <br /> Time: 5:15 p.m. <br /> Place: West Hawaii Civic Center <br /> Planning Department Conference Room—Building E, 2nd Floor <br /> 74-5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, 96740 <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Commissioners Present: Shaun Roth, Jasmine Crusat, John Hetherington, Zon Sullenberger <br /> and Arne Werchick <br /> Absent and Excused: Bryant Ching, Michaela Ikeuchi, Ann Kern and Riley Smith <br /> Planning Department: Rosalind Newlon (Planner), Deanne Bugado (Planner), <br /> Bennett Mark(Planning Program Manager) and Noriko Sauer <br /> (Commission Secretary) <br /> Applicants/Representatives: Bill Weigang (New Business Item No. 1) <br /> Public: None <br /> A quorum was present. Chairman Roth called the meeting to order and the Commissioners <br /> introduced themselves. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Minutes of the Meetings of April 23, 2019, and May 7, 2019 <br /> Chairman Roth asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of the meeting of April 23, <br /> 2019. No corrections were offered, and the minutes were approved as circulated. <br /> The Commission postponed approval of the May 7, 2019, meeting minutes at the request of the <br /> secretary. <br /> STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS <br /> None. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1. The applicant, Bill Weigang, is proposing a new multiple-family dwelling located on 75- <br /> 5705 Kalawa Street, with proposed access off of Alahou Street. The proposal includes <br /> the construction of a new 2-story multiple family dwelling, containing eight units on a <br /> 25,869 square foot lot zoned Multiple-Family Residential(RM-1). <br /> 1 <br />
