WINDWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />ACTIONS <br />DECEMBER 4, 2019 <br />1. APPLICANT: THY WORD MINISTRIES WAIKOLOA DBA THY WORD <br />MINISTRIES KA`fT (USE 18-000075) <br />Application for a Use Permit to allow the establishment of a church and related facilities <br />on 3.098 acres of land within the Single -Family Residential -10,000 square feet (RS -10) <br />zoning district. The property is located on Arena Road, approximately 750 feet southeast <br />of its intersection with Na`alehu Spur Road, Na`alehu, Ka`u, Hawaii, <br />TMK: (3) 9-5-021:035. <br />Approved with conditions. <br />2. APPLICANT: KENNETH L. ANTONIO, SR. (SPP 19-000209) <br />Application for a Special Permit to allow the storage of equipment and automobiles on a <br />2.23 -acre portion of a 49 -acre property situated in the State Land Use Agricultural <br />District. The property is located on the north (mauka) side of Ihope Road, just west of the <br />Pacific Paradise Development Subdivision, and approximately 2,300 feet west of the <br />Ihope Road -North Kulani Road intersection, Ola`a New Tract Lots, Mountain View, <br />Puna, Hawaii, TMK: (3) 1-8-006:057 portion. <br />Withdrawn by the Applicant. <br />3. INITIATOR: PLANNING DIRECTOR <br />An ordinance amending Chapter 25 (Zoning Code), Articles 2 and 4 of the Hawaii <br />County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), relating to telecommunication antennas <br />and towers. The amendments propose to replace the wind survivability rate with building <br />code requirements, remove plan approval requirements for placing antennas on existing <br />permitted towers, and increase minimum telecommunication tower setbacks from <br />property lines. <br />Continued to a later date at the request of the Planning Department. <br />Minutes of October 3, 2019 — Approved. <br />
